Historic Brewery Tower Restoration – Phase I

The Old Olympia Brewery Tower is located at the foot of Tumwater Falls on the Deschutes River in Tumwater, WA. The Olympia Brewing Company constructed the masonry tower in 1905 and brewed beer there using the gravity flow process until 1916, when Washington State enacted prohibition. Cardinal Architecture is excited to lead the restoration of this important piece of Tumwater history. RHD Enterprises recently completed phase 1 which included extensive masonry restoration and reconstruction, and timber roof reconstruction. The masonry tower is now competent and protected from the weather. Phase 2 will include a seismic retrofit, and future phases will restore the windows and doors and establish the tower’s future public use.
