Market Building – Visitors Welcome
The Market Building is the anchor for the new Craft District in Tumwater, Washington. It features craft makers surrounding a shared, livable common space. Merchants include a taproom, restaurants, coffee and bakery, retailers, produce vendors, and personal services for a full day experience.
Cardinal Architecture also developed the master plan for the Craft District, a unique concept that draws on Tumwater’s rich history. Visitors will interact with craft producers, educators, retailers, and service providers for a handcrafted encounter. In addition to the market building, the district will include a dedicated restaurant, small professional office spaces, a building shared by a local distillery and a community college brewing and distilling program, and small business incubator spaces. The buildings will surround a 1,000-person amphitheater with views of the Deschutes River Valley, and access to the Deschutes Valley Trail will connect the district to neighboring communities.
